YACHT - Second Summer

YACHT - Summer Second

Second Summer is a state of mind: overcoming obstacles in order to be close to what you love, a temporal place where sun never goes out no matter what season it is in your hemisphere. Like the original Summer of Love and its acid house revival, the Second Summer of Love, our aim is true: to create environments of total freedom. - YACHT

Produced, Recorded, & Played by Jona Bechtolt
Vocals by Claire L. Evans
Additional Vocals by Rob Kieswetter & Anna Oxygen
Additional Keyboard by Rob Kieswetter

Kimbra - “Settle Down”

“Somebody That I Used To Know” was not initially written as a duet. Gotye felt it came off as very one-sided so he called Kimbra his friend and fellow musician asking her to write a verse from the female’s perspective. Their final product is currently the most popular song in the world and a launching of both their careers. “Settle Down” has been floating around for 8 months but her debut album Vows was recently released on US iTunes. TaKo really digs this chick and hopes she hangs around for awhile.

Since news of Amy Winehouse’s death broke Saturday, musicians, celebrities and fans around the world have been sharing their appreciation for the soul singer whose life was cut much too short.
Longtime friend Russell Brand posted a personal essay to the singer on his website, and fellow Brit-crooner Adele wrote on her blog, “Amy paved the way for artists like me and made people excited about British music again whilst being fearlessly hilarious and blase about the whole thing. I don’t think she ever realized just how brilliant she was and how important she is, but that just makes her even more charming.”
But some of the most poignant tributes have come from her fans, who have been leaving flowers, candles, poems and more outside her house in North London. We spoke to some of them today, like Simon, a Camden Town resident of over 30 years who remembered Winehouse from her days working at a local launderette and her performances at the Jazz Cafe.”It doesn’t make it any less bad that she was damaged, that she was a woman in pain,” he said. “They’ll remember her as a great Londoner and a great artist, one of the greatest voices of the last 50 years.”
