TaKoHANDz loves this guy so much…..his soulful electronic hip-hop style is up there with Pretty Lights for overall creativeness. He doesn’t have the showmanship of Derek Vincent Smith or the light show which is probably why his popularity hasn’t matched PL.

First single off The Age Of Reason! “Bluestep” is a signature Gramatik style genre clash. Lately I’ve been really into combining the vibes of raw 50’s and 60’s Blues with all kinds of EDM genres and one of the results is Bluestep. It’s a dynamic mixture of Blues and Dubstep, a plethora of screaming guitar, howling vocals and big bass, capturing the raw energies of both music worlds in a hopefully cohesive, possibly outrageous picture. :)

Gramatik dropped a new remix today via soundcloud with the explanation below in the track description.

So, back in 2006 when I was still rapping(in Slovene), I sampled ”Don’t Let Me Down” by The Beatles and later on recorded lyrics over it. The beat was very simple, adapted for rap vocals so I decided to revisit it, remove my raps and add a bunch of other live instruments, synths and samples to it, so you guys can enjoy it in instrumental form without it being boring. It’s a downtempo hip-hop flavored banger that continues the evolution of collage sampling combined with live instrumentation and synthesis. Hope you guys like it. -G.
